Great time to get out on Mille Lacs! Could not find the usual offshore fish, so I switched things up and went shallow. I targeted reefs and rock piles in 6-8 feet of water with a small swimbait on a jig head. Many fish had pushed up onto the tops of these reefs, and were using the wind to their advantage to feed heavy! No giant fish found up on this structure (biggest was 4 lbs). In addition to the swimbait, I also pitched a dropshot around the larger boulders I saw as I worked around the structure. Pitching to the shaded side produced the most consistent results.
