while fishing from the bank, cover a lot of water and make casts as far as you can out to the middle of the lake. use a steady retrieve at medium pace. Pops and pauses did not produce anything but just a simple steady retrieve was key. The Firecraw Jackhammer is the perfect color this time of the year to stand out and get those active bass.

Water temps reached the high 50's and with that target shallow areas with grass. fish were in 3-5 of water either right along a weed line or tight to cover (brush, laydowns, etc.) Fish the ZMAN Chatterbait Jackhammer with a medium-speed retrieve. Did not necessarily need to add in pauses, jerks, or speed changes to get the fish to bite. The main key was accurately casting along the weedline or cover.

Bass were on their beds and managed to crush them on the Neko rig with the maxscent d-worm. I was using my newly purchased from Omnia MegaBass Orochi XX Whipsnake which handled all the bass beautifully. Amazing rod!

Fishing was tougher than expected. Water is coming up super quick due to the inlet being on. Tried all over at different depths with typical evening bite gear - chatterbait, buzzbait, cranks, etc. Only fish I caught was shallow near a mixture of rock and wood. Few other nibbles came on a Rock Crawler worked near the inlet, but didn't connect. Could have been white bass or something smaller. Can't wait for the lake to be full and the true summer bite to kick in!

Water clarity 3'+ overcast with storm front moving in. Tried several different things, but pitching the ZinkerZ along the grass lines was the ticket. Also would pitch to the outside grass line and walk it across the matted grass to get a couple LMB to hit it.

Water temp was 52 degrees windy conditions. Hot sunny day. Allow fall time to carry to bottom most bigger bass found was on Bottom throughout the day. When it started to cool down laydows and grass was were we found most catches. Needed alot of action to trigger bites a slower productive day but landed some. Biggest catch was 3lb 2 oz.

Water Temps very cold around 50 degree. Rapid retrieve to trigger bites not alot of pauses the bass just follow you in if you fishing off shore line. Shade is a must when looking for location to fish over hangs and laydowns were working the bast

Weather was overcast and rainy for a long part of the day (a rarity in CO). Water is extremely low, about 6-10’ low from typical. Got out after work and put in the kayak. Caught three right off the bat on a 100’ stretch of large rock. Fish were just a couple feet off the 45 degree bank. Had to run the Jackhammer super slow to get them to eat it. Had 86” for my best 5 in half an hour of effort. Managed a few other fish off of various structure/cover, but the larger ones came off the rock. Anytime it’s overcast in clear water, bust out your favorite moving bait and get to work! The new Kamikaze Craw by Big Bite Baits is my new favorite Jackhammer trailer for a craw or bluegill imitation. Goes on easy and the flappers provide great water movement without affecting the action of the blade.

Water was in the mid 60s, had 3'+ of water visibility. Used the mini max chatterbait to find the active fish then would follow up with the Z-man Trick ShotZ on a 1/15oz Texas Eye Finesse jighead. Caught the best of my day on the Trick ShotZ in the same spot I had caught 2 on the mini max chatterbait.

Had 5'+ of visibility and water was around 63 degrees. Tried compacted swim jigs, micro jigs, Ned creature baits and the TRD on a Texas Eye Finesse jig was the ticket. Caught 3 dinks, but hooked into 2 really nice fish just didn't get them to shore.

Had about 3 to 5 foot of visibility and tried several different baits, but the Z-man TRD BugZ was the ticket. I was swimming it up and down on a slow retrieve. I also really like the Z-man Texas Eye Finesse jighead in 1/15 oz for this technique.
