The big fish were still in deeper water. We caught a few small ones shallow, but the bigger ones haven’t moved up yet. Straight retrieve or yo yo off the bottom.

Went around 7pm when sun was starting to go going down. Started around North western portion and worked bank slowly around till about South eastern portion. Only caught 3 bass in North western portion within ten minutes of each other. I was using a jika rig I made myself They were all on beds or adjacent to them. They wanted it a bit faster but enough time for them to think and hit it. Bass are now getting on to beds. But with upcoming weather they could be pushed off and the current spawn that is happening be delayed till it again warms up. Shimano mastiff held up wonderfully, it did require more effort to drive ewg into the mouths of the bass as they were all caught out quite far.

Bass along southern and eastern edge were only patrolling shore line not actively hunting. Were skittish of people coming up to shore line. Only fish I caught were on the Western and southern parts of the lake. Both of these sides had wind directly or indirectly on them. They wanted it slow and periodical taps of the Neko. Not a single one wanted it fast or jittery. They were on the verge of spawning more so staging up to.

Fishing a shallow stump field 2-6’ water was 65 degrees. Tossing around a 3.8” swim bait along stumps or submerged wood would produce fish but dragging a Yamatanuki around wood, the fish were ripping the rod out of my hand. A lot of fish were up shallow and they are feeding up ended the day with close to 15 fish all in the 2-3lb range.

Fish were in the bedding mood. Many were under docks but they were mostly small fish. Finding shallow water that had a rocky bottom was best. Slow presentation of the tube worked best.
