Fish were just starting to spawn and the rest of them were getting ready to spawn. Caught this 5 pound largemouth in a short pocket off the main river. Big chunk rock seemed to be the key for the largemouth.

Fished from my kayak for 4 days and tried 4 different locations. The first day I tried Ha Ha Tonka. The water was in the mid to upper 50's but was very muddy and had a lot of debris floating in it. Zero bites that day. The second day I launched at the LOZ State Park. The water was pretty much the same here. Saw temps reach 60 where the sun hit the bluff walls. Still zero bites. The 3rd day was the start of my tournament. Headed north to find clear water. Fished a bay off of the main lake and managed to finally find some bass. Caught a few off of the wiggle wart and chatterbait along rocky shorelines. The 2nd day of the tourney I launched at Coffman and caught a couple on the wiggle wart again. Water temps in the clear water were around 51 degrees both days. I tried a heavier spinning setup using Mastiff 16lbs FC. I was throwing a small swimbait with it and had some bites. Didn't get enough experience with it yet but did notice the line is strong. Was able to pull my swimbait out of a snag by bending the hook. Overall, the fishing and conditions were very tough. Only managed to catch 5 keepers over 4 days of fishing in multiple parts of the lake.

Day after cold front, sunny side docks seemed to be holding fish and found a few near lay downs and brush piles. Fish hugging the bottom. Slow retrieve produced soft bite, pay attention on the early bait movements.

Main purpose of this trip was to test my motor after working on it. It was very windy had a hard time with boat control. Ran one pass down the dam with a double blade spinner with a white paddle trailer and caught a 14" bass.

Finished our first Yak event of the year in 2nd by doing a few things caught a few throwing a wiggle wart up super shallow, caught two bigger fish on a swimbait and culled out all my smallest fish with a jig. They’re starting to pull up shallow and getting ready to spawn so get in as much fishing in as you can.

Spent the morning crappie fishing but by the afternoon the water temps had warmed up to almost the mid 50’s. Caught a few flipping brush behind docks. The water is bottomed out at winter pool so it was tough to find good brush with decent water on it but a few fish had moved into it. A homemade arky style jig is what I caught them on in an Alabama craw color. The trailer was a Z-Daddy from Bojangles baits. check them out if you fish the Ozarks area. they are a great local company.

Fished wind blown points in the lower Glaize and caught quite a few fish between my buddy and I. We had quite a few keepers including a 5 1-2 pounder. Primary and secondary points with softball to basketball sized rock and a 45 degree slope seemed to produce best. The Stunna produced the most bites by far but we did catch a few on single swimbaits like a Keitech 3.3 on a 1/4 ounce ball head.

Just twitching a jerkbait on some bluff transitions. Thought it was pretty neat that I was getting more bites on a Mavrik than a Megabass. They were sitting right on the bank sunning themselves. They'll pull up quick.
