There starting to get more active but not yet full pre spawn. You can use something with vibration or flash is the best choice. You can use just a needless swimbait and they will bite that. Try to find there feeding windows.

So, I bought a new Shimano Metanium reel last week and I spooked it with the Shimano Mastiff line in 14lb test and threw a homemade football head on it. The line performed perfectly! I didn’t break off any jigs, the line cast like a dream! Sensitivity is ok but, I say that because I am not used to throwing straight flouro. I generally use braid with a flouro leader which is what I had on my spinning rod with a Ned on it. Using Mastiff as my leader again it work perfectly! I did however break a Ned head off which was stuck hard. Long story shortened I caught six 4 largemouth and two smallies. Tight lines all!

Hello All, fished crooked creek Sunday, I started ahead of my buddy and thru a crappie jig out and tossed a football jig around. I caught a small smallmouth on the crappie jig and short time later a largemouth on the football head. My buddy showed up and we went to a rock pile we know of and he caught two smallmouth on the Ned rig, I caught the rock pile multiple times and lost a bunch of jigs in the process! So, we started to move around and I picked up several largemouths on the Ned rig. The nicest fish of the day is in the picture. Tight lines

Went out this day to try the Shimano Mastiff line that I received from Omnia and Shimano, Thank you both!!!! It was cold and windy, it took a couple of hours to figure out how to catch a fish. They were stingy for sure. Anyway, I tied on a football jig in green pumpkin with a strikeking chunk in green pumpkin. I worked it thru deep wood and the Shimano mastiff line alerted me of a bite. And I set the hook on the first of six fish I caught that day. None were giants, but, it felt good to finally get bit. I was out the week prior and didn’t catch a thing! Probably because I didn’t have my mastiff line on! Tight lines all, Bob
