Found the fish in rocky areas. I think the rocks warmed the water just a tad. Worked the areas with a wacky rig, and then again with the Ned Rig. Fish are just starting to make beds, but haven't spawned yet.

Bass were deep back in cuts up against the rip rap roaming. Strikes all seemed reactionary when the bait was dropped in front of them. Neko did amazing at getting this strikes. One took a dark sleeper but worms worked best. Fish must be setting up for spawn. Look for warmest water in the backs of every cut or marina.

Fish were moving around the old weeds looking for bluegill. They would crush the squarebill in 5-10fow along the old weed lines. Lots of small perch in this lake too, so maybe a perch pattern bait would work well didn’t have time to try before wind blew me off the water.

The largies were munching today! Our best 5 went just under 15 pounds. Most fishing coming off swim jigs. Had to find that good crisp grass to trigger those bites. Be warned you will go through 2-3 pike for every bass-make sure to stock up on whatever bait you want to use those guys will take!

Got the win with just under 15lbs of prespawn largies. Fish were in an obvious spawning bay but only a specific location really produced and was completely driven by wind and bait. We caught all of our weight throwing swimjigs in 2 feet of water. The ZMan Snakehead is a killer choice and makes it easy for skipping under lay downs and docks.

Fish have started pulling to the shore in the flats. Lots of great cover in the two shallow bays big fish mixed in the reeds where there is hard bottom. Wackyshot was a fun new bait to mess with. Found some pre-spawn fish in 8 to 12 feet as well.

Emergent vegetation in shallow backwater fishing around docks and shoreline wood. Only saw one bed used a Black Zoom lizard to catch bass Most bites came in open water as bass would chase the topwater. Fished the jig around seawalls and docks.

Check out my YouTube Channel, @ECRD Fishing! Fish were not spawning quite yet. Struggled on main lake where water was too clear and 59 degrees, also struggled in Upper Mud where water was too cloudy and 60. Finally, we were ready to give up when we hit a small, protected canal on the NW side of Upper Mud. That is where they were! Caught 4 big ones and missed 4 more! 2 on Swim Jig, 2 on Wacky Worm. Water in canal was 62, but we were taking water temp in afternoon when it is at its warmest. Also our thermometer is in the top 5 inches of the water column, so reading may be inaccurate. Tight lines!

Tried this small trout lake and was surprised by the number of quality bass in it. fished a pleather of baits and caught fish on each one of them. The boat ramp was pretty sketch but not too bad. overall the lake was fun and perfect for a quick lap around it. Will be going back.

Fished backwater areas above emergent vegetation. Could see where bass were chasing minnows at the surface and fished the Horny Toad thoroughly in those areas.
